Dr. Jim was born in Dayton, Ohio, and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Montevallo. Dr. Porter's graduate work was at the University of Alabama in the Birmingham School of Dentistry. In order to stay abreast of the latest technical advancements in dentistry, Dr. Porter frequently attends workshops and seminars to ensure that his patients always have access to the new technology available today. Dr. Porter is a graduate of The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. His approach for the reconstruction of smiles is through Neuromuscular Training to provide healthy harmony of TMJ with the beautiful smile. TMJ (Temporal- Mandibular Joint Disfunction) is approached also through the Neuromuscular Design.
